Hey, I'm Nathan.
Software engineer with a background in legal tech, fintech, and medical research. WashU CS + Math grad. I like solving hard problems and making things that matter.
When I'm not writing code, I'm probably reading, playing video games, or deep in a niche YouTube documentary.
A bit about me
I studied computer science and math at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0. Before I got into software full-time, I spent time in neuroscience research -- using machine learning to help diagnose cerebral palsy in children and studying the effects of prenatal stress on newborn brains.
That research taught me something I still carry: the best technical work happens when you're deeply connected to the problem you're solving. Most recently I've been building legal tech -- case management systems, workflow automations, and tools that serve dozens of attorneys and thousands of plaintiffs across the country. Before that, I was at Capital One working on cloud systems at scale.
Outside of work, I'm currently reading my way through a growing book list and decorating a new apartment from scratch -- ask me what I'm reading or what I just hung on the wall.

- Lead engineering execution for a modular legal platform spanning lead generation, pre-litigation, and case settlement, owning systems tied to ~80% of company revenue.
- Built and scaled a platform across 4 applications and 120+ SQL tables serving 50+ attorneys, 25k+ plaintiffs, and multiple financier organizations.
- Created medical chronologies, projections, and entity-search tooling that reduced medical case management workload by 50%.
- Sourced a lemon law firm through Palantir DevCon 2025, directly increasing revenue by $1.3M ARR.
Associate SWE
Capital One
Aug 2024 – Feb 2025
- Developed a cloud application monitoring the status of 100M+ customers and accordingly deciding marketing strategy.
- Discovered a decisioning optimization that reduces audit logs by 10x, cutting costs by 60%.
SWE Intern
Capital One
Jun 2023 – Aug 2023
- Built the first iterations of a digital self-service experience for Direct Credit Bureau Disputes, streamlining the experience for ~44 million accounts.
- Updated shared components across 20+ teams to support mobile screens.
Full-stack SWE Intern
Bonhome
Jun 2022 – Aug 2022
- Created a platform for 30 parents and daycare providers to make daycares more accessible in St. Louis.
- Built a 1-on-1 chat function between parent and provider accounts using relational GraphQL collections.
Research Intern, Aravamuthan Lab
WashU School of Medicine
Sep 2021 – Dec 2022
- Used DeepLabCut and MATLAB to determine whether dystonia in cerebral palsy can be quantifiably diagnosed from labeled joint data.
- Spearheaded organization and priming of 300 videos for the DeepLabCut toolbox.
Research Intern, Developing Brain Institute
Children's National Hospital
Aug 2020 – Jun 2021
- Analyzed newborn cerebellar connectivity from 33 scans to study effects of prenatal maternal stress, lead authoring a published abstract.
- Hypertuned 3D U-Net neural network parameters for segmenting the cerebellum from fetal fMRI scans.
Things I've built
Grand Charter Platform
Modular legal platform spanning lead generation, pre-litigation, and case settlement. 4 applications, 120+ SQL tables, serving attorneys and plaintiffs across 5 states.
Medical Chronology Tooling
Automated medical case management tools including chronologies, projections, and entity search — reducing workload by 50% for a firm generating $1B+ in settlements.
Cerebellar Connectivity Research
Analyzed newborn brain scans to study prenatal stress effects. Lead authored a published abstract on cerebellar changes and tuned 3D U-Net models for fetal fMRI segmentation.
